The Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association announced its 2024-25 academic award winners today. William Smith was one of 383 schools across NCAA Divisions I, II and III and NAIA to merit the IWLCA Academic Honor Squad award. In addition, eight Herons earned a spot on the IWLCA Division III Academic Honor Roll.

To be named an Academic Honor Squad, the team must have a 3.2 or higher team GPA for the academic year. William Smith has earned the award 14 times, including nine of the past 10 years.

To be eligible for the academic honor roll, student-athletes must be a junior, senior or graduate student and have a cumulative GPA of 3.5 or higher.

Since 2009, William Smith lacrosse players have earned a spot on the annual IWLCA Academic Honor Roll 77 times.

William Smith finished the year with a 14-5 overall record. The Herons went 9-0 in Liberty League play, capturing the regular season title. The Herons earned an at-large bid to the NCAA tournament and advanced to the third round. The Herons were ninth in the nation in turnovers per game (13.21), 12th in draw control percentage (.630) and clearing percentage (.895) and 20th in scoring defense (7.37).
