9/25/2025 1:37:00 PM

The William Smith tennis team will travel to Saratoga Springs, New York for the Intercollegiate Tennis Association Division III Women's Northeast Regional Championships this weekend, Sept. 26-28, at the McCaffery-Wagman Tennis and Wellness Center. Senior Haley Levine will be joined by juniors Mae Kellersman and Grace Magna, as well as sophomore Mia Jacobs. William Smith will also have sophomore Bethany Walker and first-year Kaitlyn Hardy competing in the Singles B Draw.

Players from across the region will compete at Skidmore College this weekend. The singles bracket will feature 64 players, while the doubles bracket has 32 teams. The singles and doubles champions, as well as the runners-up, will compete in the ITA Cup, the small college national championships, in Rome, Georgia, Oct. 16-19.

William Smith will enter singles play with Levine taking on Nicole Ridenour from RPI, Kellersman taking on Claire Langille from Union, Magna taking on Lee Sieun from Vassar, and Jacobs taking on Victoria Wang from NYU. In the Singles B Draw, Walker will face Margaret English from Skidmore and Hardy will face Alexis Kennedy from Union.

The Herons will continue the action in the doubles bracket, as the pairing of Levine and Magna take on Ellie McDermed and Ariane Karera from St. Lawrence in the first round. Kellersman and Walker will also face a St. Lawrence pair, Elisa Iuri and Sarah Odland, in the Doubles B Draw. Rounding off the Doubles B Draw, Jacobs and Hardy square off against Hailey Kornbluth and Natalie Debowski from the University of Rochester.

At this year's Mary Hoskings Invitational, Levine reached the Singles "A" Consolation championship match, Jacobs went on to the Singles "B" Consolation championship match, and Hardy advanced to the Singles "C" Flight semifinals. The Herons look to keep the momentum as they head into ITA Northeast Regionals this weekend.

Last year, William Smith had three Herons representing at the ITA Northeast Regionals, including Levine. This year will be Levine's fourth consecutive year at the ITA Northeast Regionals.
