Dhiman wins Oswego State Fall Invite

Statesmen finish 2nd of 9 teams

OSWEGO, N.Y. –First-year Aman Dhiman finished five under par at the Oswego State Fall Invitational this weekend, leading the Hobart golf team to a second place finish out of nine teams at the two-day invitational.
 
Dhiman finished first out of 51 golfers at the Oswego State Fall Invitational this weekend, securing his first collegiate victory as a Statesman. Through two rounds of golf, Dhiman shot a 137, finishing five strokes under par to secure the win. He was the only player at the invitational to finish under par at Oswego Country Club.
 
Classmate Troy Gregg finished in second place for Hobart after finishing +6 after 36 holes. Gregg shot a +4 on day one and a +2 on day two to secure his second second place finish of the season. Sophomore Robby Kurzer rounded out the Statesmen top three as he finished in a tie for ninth place at +10 on the weekend.

First-year Ben Bush finished +21 after two rounds of golf, securing 35th place, while sophomore Andrew Murray rounded out Hobart's squad at +23 in 38th place. Senior Charlie Craig participated as an individual entry this weekend and finished in 27th after finishing 17 over par through 36 holes.
 
Clarkson won the team title, finishing +31 as a team through two rounds of golf. The Statesmen finished one stroke behind at +32, while the host Lakers finished in third at +45 at the Oswego State Fall Invitational. Dhiman and Gregg finished first and second, while Clarkson's Tyler Yacawych rounded out the top three finishers on the weekend.

COACHES CORNER:

"Tough end to the tournament with a one shot loss but the guys fought hard and came out firing on the front nine today to give themselves a chance down the stretch," said Head Coach Mike Long. "It was led by Aman's front nine score of 30 which was five under par. This young group is just getting started!"

UP NEXT:

Hobart will be back in action Oct. 5-6, as it closes out its fall schedule at the RPI Invitational. Action will begin at 1 p.m. at Shaker Ridge Country Club.
