The Hobart golf team produced two top-10 finishers as the Statesmen finished third place out of 13 teams at the St. Lawrence University Fall Invitational at the Appleton Golf Course over the weekend. Hobart finished +35 as a team, finishing two stroked behind runners-up, St. Lawrence.
First-year
Aman Dhiman and classmate
Troy Gregg paced the Statesmen, finishing seven and eight over par, respectively. Dhiman finished in seventh place, while Gregg landed in a tie for 10th out of 70 golfers.
Sophomore
Robby Kurzer finished in 16th at +11 on the 72-par course. First-year
Ben Bush finished the weekend +13, placing 22nd while sophomore
Andrew Murray placed 26th at +14 through 36 holes of golf.
Junior
Gavin Poyer finished in 30th after competing as an individual entry. He carded an 85 on Day 1 and improved his game on Day 2, carding a 74 to finish +15 over par.
Clarkson won the team title, finishing +23 over par while St. Lawrence placed second with a team score of +33 at the St. Lawrence University Fall Tournament. Oswego finished in fourth place, finishing nine strokes behind the Statesmen. Clarkson's Ryan Makowski was the individual medalist at the event, finishing one under par on the weekend. He was the only golfer to finish under par.
UP NEXT:
Hobart will be back in action Sept. 27-28, when it travels to Oswego, New York, for the Oswego State Fall Invitational. The two-day event will start at 11 a.m. on Saturday at Oswego Country Club.
