Herons wrap up road trip in Connecticut

The William Smith squash team wrapped up a six-game road trip through New England with a pair of matches in Connecticut. The Herons were defeated by 25th-ranked Connecticut College and 19th-ranked Wesleyan 9-0.
 
All but two of William Smith's matches so far this season have been against teams ranked in the Top 25 of the College Squash Association Team Rankings.
 
AGAINST THE CAMELS
  • Connecticut College took seven of the nine points in 3-0 sweeps.
  • Senior Jess Finnerty was in a tight contest in the No. 2 spot but fell, 8-11, 11-4, 7-11, 11-1, 11-1. 
  • Jada Smith-Padmore won a game but lost 3-1 in the top spot.
 
AGAINST THE CARDINALS
  • Wesleyan won all nine points in the match in 3-0 sweeps.
  • Smith-Padmore had the closest match in top spot. Despite the sweep, she lost 12-10, 11-5, 11-3.
 
UP NEXT
William Smith will return home on Sunday, Jan. 18, when it welcomes Franklin and Marshall to the Smith Squash Center. The match is scheduled to get underway at 11 a.m.
