The Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference named William Smith senior Caitlyn Anschutz its Bowler of the Week. She is the third Heron to win the award this season.
 
Anschutz was William Smith's top performer at the Northeast Classic, helping the Herons to a 26th place finish in a field of 36 teams that included many ranked in the top 25. She averaged 18.65 pins per frame over the weekend, including a team-high 19.82 in traditional matches and 17.58 in Baker matches. She produced 43 strikes, striking on 41% of her frames.
 
On Saturday, Anschutz averaged 197.8 pins per game, ranking 51st in a tournament field with 229 competitors. Anschutz bowled two 200-games, a 201 against Daemen and a 221 against St. Thomas Aquinas. She also posted a 196 against No. 10 Maryville (Mo.) and a 187 against No. 4 Nebraska.
 
William Smith (30-21) returns to action Jan. 23-25 in Lansing, Michigan, when the Herons compete in the DIII Invitational.
