William Smith senior Michaela Morgan was named the Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference Bowler of the Week by the conference office for the week ending Jan. 25. She's the fourth different Heron to win the award this season.

Over the weekend, Morgan earned a spot on the All-Tournament Team at the DIII National Invitational in Lansing, Michigan. Her 213.5 game average in traditional matches was the second highest in a field of more than 60 competitors. Morgan produced three 200 games, including a 242 against Elmhurst which is the eighth highest game in Heron history. She added a 240 game against Hilbert the ninth highest game in Heron history.

Mogan's 21.35 pins per frame average in traditional matches led all AMCC bowlers, 1.7 pins more than the runner-up. She also led the league in strike percentage (49.4%) and was second in fill percentage (83.1%).

The two-time AMCC Bowler of the Year, Morgan has been named the AMCC Bowler of the Week five times in her three seasons with the Herons.

William Smith posted a 7-3 record in the tournament and finished second out of 10 teams. The Herons broke the program record for total pinfall in a traditional match with 1,004 in a win over Penn State Behrend and then eclipsed that mark with 1,047 in their next match a victory over Carthage.

William Smith will be back in action Feb. 14-15 when the Herons compete in the AMCC Round Robin No. 2, hosted by Alvernia.
