The Hobart and William Smith sailing team will host the 13th annual David Lee Arnoff Trophy on Seneca Lake at the Bozzuto Boathouse this weekend, Oct. 17-18. HWS has won nine of the past 12 editions of the regatta.
Â
The home regatta on Seneca Lake is named in memory of David Lee Arnoff '82, a loyal Hobart alum and avid sailor who passed away unexpectedly in 2012. The event was renamed in 2014 to honor him and his contributions to HWS and his love of sailing.Â
Â
Racing is scheduled to start on Saturday at 11 a.m. on Seneca Lake. HWS will welcome Cal Poly, Cornell, Princeton, Maritime, Merchant Marine, Michigan and Vermont to Geneva for this year's regatta.
Â
In 2025, HWS turned in a dominant performance, claiming the trophy with a 39-point victory. With only seven teams in the field, the regatta was sailed as one combined division. HWS' boats finished one-two, with the "B" Division taking first place with 44 points.
Nico Garcia-Castrillon '26,

Cara Brickhouse and
Molly Pile combined to win three races and finished second four times. The "A" Division boat came in second with 51.
James Kopack,

Â
