2/16/2026 2:22:00 PM

Hobart junior defenseman Conor Lally was named the SUNYAC Men's Hockey Athlete of the Week by the Conference office today.

Lally led the Statesmen with four points on two goals and two assists as Hobart picked up a pair of SUNYAC victories over the weekend. In Friday's 9-0 win over Morrisville, Lally had three points on a goal and two assists. His goal came in the second period while Hobart was killing a five-minute major. It was his first career short-handed goal. His assists came on a goal in the first period and a power-play goal in the third period. On Saturday, Lally scored a power-play goal as Hobart defeated Cortland 4-3.

Lally has played in 23 games this season, recording career-highs 12 goals, 19 assists and 31 points. He enters the week 23rd in the nation in assists per game (0.83) and points per game (1.35). Both those numbers are first in the nation among defensemen. Lally also plays a key role in Hobart's penalty-killing unit that is seventh in the nation (.899).

In addition, Hobart (23-0-0, 16-0-0) remained the unanimous No. 1 team in the nation in the USCHO.com poll. This is the 44th consecutive poll that the Statesmen have been ranked No. 1. Hobart is also ranked No. 1 in the NCAA Power Index rankings for the third straight week. NPI is the formula used to select at-large bids for the NCAA tournament.
The Statesmen, who clinched the SUNYAC regular season title on Friday, will be back in action this weekend, Feb. 20-21, when they close out the regular season at home against Buffalo State and Fredonia. Friday's game against the Bengals is scheduled to begin at 7 p.m. and Saturday's game against the Blue Devils is slated to start at 4 p.m.
