Hobart to host RMU in Boswell debut

GENEVA, N.Y.—The Hobart lacrosse team returns home to host Robert Morris in a non-conference clash on Saturday, Feb. 28. The Boswell Field season debut for the Statesmen is set to get underway at 1 p.m.
 
The game will be broadcast live on WHWS-FM (105.7). Fans can track the game online with HWS All-Access Video and Live Stats.
 
RIDE 'EM STATESMEN
  • Hobart is third in the nation in opponent clearing percentage. The Statesmen implemented a 10-man ride this season that has flustered their foes. Through four games, Hobart's foes are clearing just 67.6% of the time, down from 87.7% in 2025.
 
SPECIAL TEAMS
  • The Statesmen are ranked in the top 15 in the country in both man-up offense and man-down defense.
  • Hobart has scored on 50% of its extra-man opportunities (5-10), 15th in the nation.
  • When opponents have the man advantage, the Statesmen have killed off 11 of 13 opportunities (.846), ranking 12th in Division I.
 
THE TAKEAWAY
  • Hobart is 22nd in the country in caused turnovers. Through four games this season, the Statesmen have 36 caused turnovers, 13 more than they had in the first four games of 2025.
  • Hobart had 10 caused turnovers in its season-opening win over Canisius and matched that total earlier this week against No. 3 Cornell. The Statesmen only caused double digit turnovers twice in 14 games last season.

  • Hobart and RMU have one common opponent so far this season, Canisius.
  • On Feb. 7, the Statesmen opened their campaign with a 13-8 victory over the Golden Griffins inside the Poole Family Dome.

SCOUTING REPORT
  • Robert Morris evened its record at 3-3 with an 8-7 double overtime win against High Point on Monday. Junior Ben Eck scored twice for the Colonials, tying the game with 42 seconds left in regulation and firing home the game-winner 74 seconds into the second overtime.
  • RMU is averaging 9.17 goals per game, while allowing 12.5 goals per game.
  • First-year attackman Dylan Anderson paces the offense with 11 goals, seven assists and 18 points.
  • Sophomore Cristian Davis is the Colonials top faceoff specialist, with a .429 winning percentage and 22 ground balls.
  • Junior defenseman Owen Tapper has a team-high 13 caused turnovers.
  • Junior goalie Nate Fetcher has started all six games and sports a 2-3 record, a 12.80 GAA and a .472 save percentage. He shares the team lead with Davis for ground balls with 22.
 
SERIES SNAPSHOT
  • Saturday's clash between the Statesmen and Colonials will be the 15th in a series that began in 2015.
  • Hobart leads the series 8-6, including a 3-2 record in Geneva.
