GENEVA, N.Y.—The Hobart lacrosse team will begin Atlantic 10 Conference play against 18th-ranked Saint Joseph's Saturday, March 18. The opening faceoff on Boswell Field at Urick Stadium is set for 1 p.m.

SCOUTING HOBART (2-5, 0-0)
- Outside of an 11-goal loss to defending national champion Cornell, the Statesmen have been in every game this season, suffering narrow losses to Colgate (7-6), Robert Morris (8-7 in OT), Bucknell (12-10) and UAlbany (14-10).
- Hobart's defense has been strong and ranks third in the nation in man-down defense (.885), fourth in opponent clear percentage (.713) and 22nd in caused turnovers per game (9.14).
- First-year defenseman Colman Craft has turned heads in the first half of the season. He leads the nation in caused turnovers per game (3.29) and landed at No. 10 on InsideLacrosse.com's Freshman Impact Rankings.
- Classmate Michael Johnson has started every game in goal, producing a .524 save percentage and a 10.51 GAA. He had a season-high 16 saves against the Great Danes on March 7.
- Senior David Peterkin leads four Statesmen with double digit points this season. He has 22 points on 10 goals and a team-high 12 assists.
- Senior Connor DiTomasso and sophomore Daniel Cano also have 10 goals on the year.
- Senior Seamus Schofield has been Hobart's top option on faceoffs. He's 53-of-115 with a team-high 19 ground balls.
SCOUTING SAINT JOSEPH'S (4-2, 1-0)
- The Hawks opened A10 play last week with a 24-6 rout of St. Bonaventure. Twenty-one players recorded at least one point with attackmen Collin Campbell and Ben Dutton sharing game-high honors with five points apiece.
- SJU also features a relentless ride, ranking sixth in the country in opponent clear percentage (.756).
- The Hawks also rank in the top 20 in turnovers per game (14th, 14.17), caused turnovers per game (15th, 9.50), clearing percentage (16th, .885), and winning percentage (19th, .667).
- Dutton leads the offense with 15 points on 13 goals and two assists.
- Griffin Mallory is close behind with 13 points on six goals and a team-high seven assists.
- Grad student Matt Fritz is 29-of-66 on faceoffs with a team-high 19 ground balls.
- Senior Tomy Gross has started all six games in goal, recording a .449 save percentage and a 10.95 GAA.
SERIES SNAPSHOT
- Hobart and Saint Joseph's have squared off 16 times since 2008.
- The Hawks lead the series 11-5, winning eight straight dating back to 2018.
- SJU won last year's meeting 15-7 in Philadelphia. Richie LaCalandra led the Hawks with eight points on four goals and four assists.
