GENEVA, N.Y.—The Hobart baseball team's series against Rochester has been postponed to March 29-30 due the forecasted freezing temperatures on Friday and Saturday. The Statesmen will host the Yellowjackets in a doubleheader on Sunday beginning at noon at RIT's baseball complex. Hobart and UR will then play a single game on the Yellowjackets' Towers Field on Monday at 6:30 p.m.

NATIONAL HONORS
Hobart first-year
Joe Dunham was named to the
D3baseball.com Team of the Week for his performance last week. The relief pitcher appeared in two of Hobart's three games last week, helping the Statesmen extend their winning streak to eight games. On March 17 against Colby-Sawyer, Dunham pitched two perfect innings, allowing no hits while striking out four of the six batters he faced in an 11-3 win over the Chargers. On March 20 against St. Lawrence, Dunham threw the final 2 2/3 innings of a 9-7 win over St. Lawrence. He did not allow a run, striking out two and yielding just one hit to pick up his second win of the season. For the week, Dunham had a 0.00 ERA with six strikeouts, no walks and just one hit allowed.
SCOUTING THE STATESMEN
- Hobart is 14-6 overall and 2-0 in the Liberty League.
- The Statesmen are looking to bounce back from a 9-4 non-conference loss to Ithaca on Wednesday.
- Sophomore Aidan Davenport is one of six Hobart players hitting over .300. He has a .419 average with two doubles, two triples and a home run.
- Senior Will Jones (.385) and junior Sean Garvin (.338) are tied for the team lead in RBIs with 16. Garvin also leads the team with 23 hits, five doubles, three triples, two home runs and 22 runs scored.
- Senior Teck Nash and junior Trevor Kimball lead the pitching staff. Nash is 3-1 with a 2.86 ERA, 20 strikeouts against just four walks. Kimball is 2-1 with a 4.22 ERA. Opponents are hitting just .143 against him.
- Dunham (13 IP) and junior Charlie Forrest (10 1/3) have both pitched more than 10 innings this season without allowing a run.
SCOUTING THE YELLOWJACKETS
- Rochester is 8-7 this season, including a 1-2 mark in Liberty League play.
- The Yellowjackets are aiming to rebound from a 9-6 loss to Keuka on Wednesday.
- Junior Sammy Besztery is batting a team-best .400 with a team-high 22 hits.
- Sophomore Benjamin Garber is close behind, hitting .377 with team highs of five doubles and 14 RBIs.
- On the mound, UR has five pitchers that have thrown between 11 and 16 innings this season.
- Sophomore Lindsay Sunil is 2-0 with a 4.96 ERA and 10 strikeouts. He's appeared in four games and has thrown a team-high 16 1/3 innings.
SERIES SNAPSHOT
- Since Hobart returned to varsity status in 2023, the Statesmen have played the Yellowjackets nine times. UR is 7-2 in those games.
