The Hobart lacrosse team will travel to UAlbany for a non-conference showdown Saturday, March 7. The opening faceoff at Casey Stadium is scheduled for 2 p.m.

ABOUT THE STATESMEN (1-4)
- Hobart aims to halt a four-game slide that includes tight losses to defending Patriot League champion Colgate, 7-6, Bucknell, 12-10, and defending Northeast Conference champion Robert Morris, 8-7 in OT.
- The Statesmen have shown notable improvement defensively this season.
- Hobart was 53rd in the nation last season in opponent clearing percentage (.877), but currently sit No. 3 in the country, limiting opponents to a .691 clearing percentage.
- The Statesmen are markedly better at killing penalties this year, ranking 15th in Division I (.842) after finishing 42nd in 2025 (.625).
- Hobart is vastly improved in causing turnovers as well. Seventy-fourth a year ago (5.43), the Statesmen are forcing 9.8 per game this year, 15th in the nation.
- First-year defenseman Colman Craft has impressed in the early season. He leads the nation in caused turnovers per game (3.4) and is already tied for seventh place on the program's season list with 17. Craft was named to the USILA Division I Team of the Week for his play against Cornell and RMU last week (8 CT, 5 GB).
- Senior midfielder David Peterkin paces the offense with 12 points on five goals and a team leading seven assists.
- Sophomore attackman Daniel Cano and first-year midfielder Gordon Bennett are tied for the team's scoring lead with six goals apiece.
- First-year goalie Michael Johnson has started all five games in goal, producing a .520 save percentage and a 10.42 GAA.

- UAlbany brings a 1-3 record into the contest, looking to bounce back from a 15-9 loss at UMass last Saturday.
- The Great Danes are ranked in the top 20 in the nation in four statistical categories: extra-man offense (#1, .778), caused turnovers per game (6th, 10.75), turnovers per game (12th, 13.75) and shooting percentage (17th, .324).
- Senior attackman Silas Richmond leads the team with nine goals, 10 assists and 19 points. He's ninth in the nation in assists per game (2.5) and 16th in points per game (4.75).
- Junior long-stick midfielder Jacob Smith and junior defenseman Cade Galko are tied for the team lead with eight caused turnovers apiece. They are 16th in Division I in per game average (2.0).
- Sophomore Brady Smith has started all four games in goal, producing a 12.44 GAA and a .382 save percentage.

- Saturday will be just the third meeting between Hobart and UAlbany on the lacrosse field.
