The William Smith lacrosse team will hit the road for the first time this season when it makes the 68-mile trip southeast to take on Cortland on Saturday, March 7. The opening draw is scheduled for 4 p.m. at the Red Dragon's Grady Field.
 
The Herons are 2-0 to start the season after beating Hamilton 10-9 on Wednesday night. Senior Taryn Luzi and junior Katie Grottenthaler both had hat tricks in the victory. Junior Janey Sypeck led the defensive charge with five caused turnovers and three ground balls against the Continentals.
 
Cortland is 1-1 on the season and is looking to bounce back from a 16-15 loss to Ithaca in overtime last Saturday. Emma Dempsey had six goals in the losing effort.

• Junior Mia Falco paces the Herons' offense with nine points on three goals and six assists.
