SCOUTING THE STATESMEN
  • Hobart is 2-7, 0-2 in the A10 following a 24-8 loss at then No. 2 Richmond last Saturday.
  • The Statesmen have deployed a 10-man ride this season that has frustrated opponents. Hobart is fifth in the nation in opponent clearing percentage (.750).
  • The defense has excelled when man down. The Statesmen have killed off 83.9% of the opponent's extra-man opportunities, which is sixth in the nation.
  • Senior David Peterkin leads the offense with 15 assists and 27 points.
  • Senior Connor DiTomasso and sophomore Daniel Cano are tied for the team lead with 13 goals apiece.
  • Senior Seamus Schofield has won 44.8% of his faceoffs and leads the team with 40 ground balls.
  • First-year defenseman Colman Craft has a team-high 24 caused turnovers, one shy of the Hobart season record, and 21 ground balls. He's fourth in the nation in caused turnovers per game (2.67).
  • First-year Michael Johnson has played the majority of minutes in goal. In eight starts, he has a .509 save percentage and an 11.23 GAA.

SCOUTING THE BLUE HENS
  • Delaware is also 2-7 and 0-2 in the conference. The Blue Hens beat Binghamton last Saturday 9-4 in a non-conference game in Newark, Delaware.
  • Senior Brendan Powers leads the team with 14 goals and 16 points.
  • Sophomore Bennett Parmer has a team-high six assists.
  • First-year Scott Conte is the leader in ground balls (30) and on faceoffs (.442).
  • Graduate student defenseman Nick Cowen has a team-leading 19 caused turnovers.
  • Delaware has split time in goal between graduate student Aidan Koff and sophomore Colton Silverstein. Koff has started five games, compiling a 13.18 GAA and a .475 save percentage. Silverstein has started four games, recording an 11.14 GAA and a .478 save percentage.

SERIES SNAPSHOT
  • Delaware is in its first season in the Atlantic 10, so this will be the first meeting with Hobart as league rivals.
  • The two teams have only met one other time, way back on March 26, 1983. Hobart trailed by a goal midway through the first quarter, but seized a 3-2 advantage by the end of the opening frame on the way to an 11-7 victory in a game played in Ithaca.
  • Despite the limited history between Hobart and Delaware, the Statesmen have been here before. The Statesmen won the Patriot League in 2002 and they were sent to Newark to face Duke in the first round of the NCAA tournament.
