William Smith continues road trip at Rochester Saturday

The eighth-ranked William Smith lacrosse team will be back in action on Saturday, April 4, when it heads to the Flower City to take on University of Rochester in a Liberty League contest. The opening draw at Fauver Stadium is scheduled for 11 a.m.
 
The Herons improved to 9-1 on the season and 5-0 in conference play with a 17-7 win over RIT on Wednesday. Junior Grace Rund led William Smith with four goals and was one of three players with a hat trick in the win. Senior Caitie Baker led the Herons' defensive effort with four caused turnovers. William Smith limited the Tigers to a season-low seven goals.
 
The Yellowjackets are 6-3 on the year with a 3-1 record in Liberty League play. Rochester is looking to build off a 13-11 victory over Geneseo last Saturday. Grace Reyna and Katie Rajkowski led the offense, combining for nine goals.

  • William Smith is led offensively by junior Mia Falco's 30 points on 13 goals and a team-high 17 assists.

  • Alyssa Gorny leads the team with 32 goals and 44 points. She also has a team-high 32 draw controls.
  • Grony is tied for the team lead with Allison Weiden with 12 assists each.
  • Anna Rogers is second on the team with 21 goals and 32 points.
  • Jenna Ufberg paces the defense with 24 caused turnovers and 31 ground balls. Bunting has scooped up 20 ground balls and Grony has 17 caused turnovers.
  • Isla Ablin has the edge in minutes played in goal. She is 5-2 with a 8.20 GAA and a .505 save percentage

  • Saturday's game will be the 51st meeting between William Smith and Rochester.
