The William Smith golf team will compete in the 36-hole Liberty League Championship this weekend in Rome, New York. The conference title chase will be played at Teugega Country Club May 1-2.
 
Friday's first round is set to tee off at noon with Saturday's closing round starting at 8 a.m. Fans will be able to follow the tournament live on clippd.com.
 
Senior Caroline Gannon leads the Herons in scoring average (92.0) and has three top-10 finishes this season. She carded the team's best round of the season at the Keuka Fall Invitational, firing an 86. This spring, Gannon produced twin rounds of 87 in the Martin/Wallace Invitational. First-year Maggie McCarthy is second on the team in scoring average and is coming off her best round of the season, a second place finish in the Nazareth Spring Invitational.
 
William Smith finished seventh in the 2025 Liberty League Championship, which was won by Wellesley.
