This is the third straight year that a Statesman has won a scholar-athlete of the year award. Artem Buzoverya '24 and
Luke Aquaro '25 won the Liberty League's overall Male Scholar-Athlete of the Year Award in 2024 and 2025, respectively.
The SUNYAC Scholar-Athlete of the Year Award combines academic achievement with success in the athlete arena. Nominees must be at least a sophomore, a starter or significant reserve, and have a 3.30 grade point average through the fall semester. Each of the 10 conference schools is allowed one nominee, who are then voted upon by the conference's sports information directors.
