Statesmen to host Panthers on Youth Lacrosse Day

GENEVA, N.Y.—The Hobart lacrosse team continues Atlantic 10 Conference play when the Statesmen welcome the High Point Panthers to Boswell Field at Urick Stadium for Youth Lacrosse Day on Saturday, April 11. The opening faceoff is scheduled for 1 p.m.
 
YOUTH LACROSSE DAY
  • Boys and girls from youth lacrosse teams from across Central and Western New York are encouraged to attend wearing their team colors.
  • Young players will have the opportunity to line the tunnel, welcoming the Statesmen onto the field.
  • Kids will be invited onto the field to stand with the Statesmen for the national anthem.
  • They can also return to the field postgame for autographs, photos, and a chance to throw the ball around.
 
GAMEDAY COVERAGE
  • Fans unable to attend can catch the action via webcast on HWS All-Access or tune in to WHWS-FM (105.7). Live stats will be available on HWSAthletics.com.

Hobart Statesmen
  • Hobart ranks fifth nationally in man-down defense, successfully stopping 81.3% of the opposition's extra-man opportunities.
  • Senior David Peterkin leads the team with 28 points and 15 assists, while senior Connor DiTomasso and sophomore Daniel Cano both have 14 goals.
  • First-year Colman Craft is making waves, ranking fifth in the nation in caused turnovers per game (2.4).
  • In goal, first-year Michael Johnson has started nine games, maintaining a .513 save percentage.
 
High Point Panthers
  • The Panthers arrive in Geneva with a four-game winning streak and an overall 5-5 record.
  • High Point is second in the nation in faceoff percentage and boasts impressive statistics in shooting percentage (11th, .328) and ground balls (16th, 33.2).
  • Junior Justin Wixted leads the team with 38 points and 23 assists, while Ryan Hynes and Carson Robins each have 20 goals.
  • Senior Luca Accardo is fifth nationally in faceoff win percentage (.651) and second in ground balls (10.4).
 
SERIES HISTORY
  • This will be the fourth meeting between the two teams, with High Point winning all three previous encounters by a combined four goals.
