Hobart volleyball alum Andrew Kim '25 is the first Statesman in program history to continue his career as a professional volleyball player, signing a contract with Black Volley Beskydy of the Czech Extraliga First Division.
Kim capped a remarkable collegiate career at Hobart as one of the most accomplished Division III volleyball players in NCAA history. A two-year captain, he helped lead the Statesmen through their first two varsity seasons to a cumulative 38-20 record, including a 20-9 mark in 2025.
"The Hobart volleyball family is so excited to celebrate Andrew continuing his athletic career to play professional volleyball overseas," said Head Coach Steve England. "He is one of the most accomplished Division III volleyball players of all time. His role in building the Hobart volleyball program was pivotal to our early success. We are thrilled to see him represent the program overseas. We are sure he will make an immediate impact and look forward to watching his talent shine at the next level."
Kim concluded his Hobart career ranked second in the nation in points per set (5.42) and third in kills per set (4.62) during the 2025 season. His performance earned him AVCA First Team All-America, AVCA Regional Player of the Year and UVC Co-Player of the Year honors.
A graduate transfer, Kim finished his collegiate career with 1,828 kills in 443 sets, breaking the NCAA Division III career kills record. He was a five-time AVCA All-American, including four consecutive first team selections, and a four-time AVCA Regional Player of the Year. In 2023, he was named the AVCA Division III National Player of the Year.
Kim also excelled academically during his time at Hobart, earning a master's degree in higher education leadership. He was named to the 2024-25 Academic All-America® NCAA Division III Men's At-Large Second Team by College Sports Communicators after earning third team honors in 2023-24. He was also a two-time CSC Academic All-District® selection and a five-time United Volleyball Conference All-Academic honoree.
