SARATOGA SPRINGS, N.Y.—The Hobart tennis team wrapped up action at the 2026 Intercollegiate Tennis Association Men's Northeast Regional Championships this afternoon.

Sophomore Michael Georgelis and first-year Dylan Ortiz highlighted the Statesmen action this weekend as both defeated seeded players in the singles draw, advancing to the round of 16.
 
DOUBLES ACTION

• Senior Achilleas Kousaridis and Everett Reid competed in the main doubles draw. The Statesmen duo fell 8-4 in the round of 32 to Skidmore's Mahen Bitkuri and Fletcher King.
• Kousaridis and Reid then competed in the consolation draw and fell to RPI's Felix Puyplat and Isaac Husni, 8-6.
• Sophomore Tejus Ranadive and Ortiz also competed in the main draw, ultimately falling in a thrilling first round matchup to RPI's Tsubasa Okada and Gustave Viennet, 8-6.
• After the loss, Ranadive and Ortiz competed in the consolation draw but were tripped up by Skidmore's Mustafa Ege Topbas and Nathan Dolgushev, 8-2.
• Georgelis and first-year Kato Tsang took on Union's Reilly Fowles and Riichi Nagatake in the B draw and advanced to the quarterfinals after the Union duo had to withdraw due to injury. In the quarterfinals, the Hobart duo fell to Baruch's Joshua Bey and Ryan Huang, 8-3.

 
SINGLES DRAW

• Hobart had three players entered in the main singles draw.
• Ortiz won his opening match, advancing to the round of 32 after defeating Ithaca's Alex Mazza, 7-6 (7-5), 6-4. He then went on to defeat 16th-seeded Haocheng Liu from Rochester, 6-3, 2-6, 10-3, to advance to the round of 16. Ortiz ultimately fell in the round of 16 to top-seeded Kevin Titus Suresh from Saint Francis, 6-3, 6-2.
• Georgelis also impressed in the singles bracket, advancing to the round of 16 after defeating Farmingdale State's Kwaku Agyeman, 6-1, 6-0, and 16th-seeded Mohammed ZahaanSiddigui from Hamilton, 6-2, 6-3. Georgelis ultimately fell to eighth-seeded Mustafa Ege Topbas, 6-4, 5-7, 1-10.
• Kousaridis competed in the main draw but fell in his opening match to Vassar's Eugene Lee, 6-3, 6-3. He then went on compete in the consolation bracket, defeating Rochester's Alan Wang, 8-2 in the opening round. Kousaridis was set to take on Oneonta's Jaden Ritterman but the consolation matches were abandoned in the round of 16.
• Ranadive competed in the B draw, winning his opening matchup against Bard's Jackson Brent 6-1, 6-1, before falling to Saint Francis' Deven Pandey 6-3, 6-4 in the quarterfinals.
• Reid also competed in the B draw. He defeated TCNJ's Siddharth Arudi 6-1, 6-1, in the opening round before falling to Union's Daniel Saxe, 4-6, 6-2, 7-10.

COACHES CORNER

"Having two unseeded Hobart guys in the round of 16, beating seeded players, is a big accomplishment," said Head Coach Tim Riskie. "I thought all of our guys competed well and learned a lot from this tournament."
