GENEVA, N.Y.—The Hobart tennis team lost to visiting Ithaca 8-1 at the HWS Tennis Center this afternoon. The Statesmen slip to 7-9, while the Bombers improve to 7-6.

First-year Will Tucker (Duxbury/Duxbury, Mass.) earned the lone point for Hobart at No. 6 singles over Jeff Buffum. Tucker won the first set 7-6 (7-5 in the tiebreaker), but Buffum captured the second 6-2. Tucker rallied in the super tiebreaker for a 10-7 win.

The Statesmen are back in action on April 9, when they visit Hamilton for a 4 p.m. match.
