The William Smith College lacrosse team remains the 16th-ranked Division III program in the nation for the second straight week, according to the latest Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association poll. Last week, the Herons fell to 17th-ranked Cortland 12-9, before rebounding with two Liberty League victories over St. Lawrence 16-6 and Clarkson 19-8. William Smith holds a 7-1 overall record and is unbeaten in the conference at 4-0.

Lucy Johnson (Millburn/Short Hills, N.J.) paced the Herons' offense last week with 10 goals and three assists, while junior attacker
Sarah Goodkind (Millbrook School/Greenwich, Conn.) was just as impressive with 10 goals and one helper. Junior attacker
Molly Fitzgerald (Gould Academy/Sudbury, Mass.) added seven goals and an assist as well. Johnson earned her second Liberty League Co-Rookie of the Week honor in as many weeks for her efforts.
Fitzgerald leads the Liberty League in goals per game with 3.88. She also ranks 10th in the nation in that category. Fitzgerald has posted a team-high 31 goals and 35 points in just eight games this spring.
The Herons will travel to sixth-ranked Hamilton on April 10 for a Liberty League contest at 4 p.m. The Continentals (8-1, 4-0 Liberty League) are led by senior Kallie Briscoe's 21 goals and 20 assists. She leads the conference in assists and points per game, while junior Liz Rave has netted a team-high 23 goals.
