CASTILE, N.Y.—William Smith first-year Maggie Nash paced the Heron cross country team in the Geneseo Invitational in Letchworth State Park today. She led William Smith to a seventh place finish in the 12 team field.

Nash covered the 6-kilometer course in 24 minutes, 7.8 seconds, finishing 15th out of 139 runners. KC Cronmiller was the next Heron to cross the line, logging a time of 25:23.5 to place 39th. She was followed by Meghan Gaucher in 51st place (26:03.2).

With five runners in the top 10, the host Blue Knights won the team title. Geneseo's Marissa Liberati was the individual winner in 22:06.9. The Herons were 38 points ahead of eighth place Alfred in the standings with Rochester, Keuka, SUNY ESF, and FLCC rounding out the standings.

Following a week off, William Smith will be back in action on Saturday, Oct. 16, in the Cross Country Only Conference Championship at Seneca Lake State Park.
