The William Smith basketball team will head west on the New York State Thruway for its final game of 2010. The Herons will travel to Buffalo to take on No. 20 Medaille at 2 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 30.

William Smith (4-5) is coming off a 72-70 win over previously unbeaten Cortland on Dec. 18. The Herons will be playing their ninth road game of the season. Junior forward Kristen Kush leads the team in scoring, producing 16.3 ppg and 7.3 rpg. First-year guard Jacqueline Murphy paces the team and the Liberty League in rebounding at 9.7 rpg.

The Mavericks (7-1) have won five in a row, including a 93-82 victory over Clarkson in their most recent contest on Dec. 13. Bianca Smiley and Tanisha Travis lead Medaille in scoring and rebounding, respectively. Smiley is averaging 13.7 ppg, while Travis is grabbing 7.3 rpg.
