HILTON HEAD, S.C.—The Hobart College tennis team fell to Scranton 5-4 this afternoon, in its final spring break match. The Statesmen move to 4-4 on the year, while the Royals improve to 7-3 overall.

Bruce Grant picked up the win at first singles. He posted a 6-4 decision in the first set, and then his opponent retired. Classmate
Alex James won 6-4, 6-1 at No. 3, while senior
Guillaume Etlin (6-0, 6-3) and sophomore
Kevin Bates (6-3, 1-6, 11-9) prevailed at fourth and fifth singles, respectively.
The Statesmen will return to action on March 23, when they host Rochester at 4 p.m.
