ROCHESTER, N.Y.—The Hobart College tennis team blanked RIT 9-0 tonight. The Statesmen improve to 7-6 on the season, while the Tigers fall to 1-3 overall.
In doubles action, first-years
Bruce Grant and
Alex James won at No. 1, followed by junior
Matt Chin and sophomore
Matt Hursh at No. 2, and senior
Guillaume Etlin and sophomore
Kevin Bates at No. 3.
The Statesmen dominated singles play as well, with Grant, Hursh, James, Etlin, and Bates sweeping match Nos. 1-5, respectively. Sophomore
Kevin Kent wrapped up the victory with a win at No. 6.
Hobart will be back in action on April 3, when the Statesmen host Skidmore at the HWS Tennis Center. The match is set to begin at 1 p.m.
