Maggie Nash finished second of 58 runners to lead the Herons.
Nash finished the 6-kilometer course with a time of 24 minutes, 25 seconds. She was just 16 seconds behind the first place finisher from Keuka. First-year
Meghan Gaucher was right behind Nash, finishing third in 25:21. First-year KC Cronmiller was the next William Smith runner to cross the finish line. She claimed sixth place, recording a time of 25:34.
Sophomore
Kelly Watters posted a ninth place finish in 26:38. First-year
Marielle Verni rounded out the top-5 finishers for the Herons. She recorded a time of 26:53 for a 14th place finish. William Smith finished first of seven teams with a total of 34 points. SUNY ESF took second with 89 points, and Cazenovia claimed third with 90 points.
The Herons return to action on Sept. 25 at the Houghton Invitational which is set to start at 3 p.m.
