The William Smith basketball team will host Skidmore and Union in its first Liberty League weekend of the season. The Herons will play the Thoroughbreds in Bristol Gym tonight at 6 p.m., and will take on the Dutchwomen at 2 p.m. on Saturday.
William Smith enters tonight's contest with a 6-6 overall after defeating Hamilton 74-52 on Monday in its first Liberty League game.
Junior forward
Kristen Kush, who was selected to the Liberty League Team of the Week for the sixth time this season, is leading the Herons in scoring (17.3 ppg), field goal percentage (.482), and is second in rebounding (6.8 rpg). At the beginning of the week, she ranked second in the league in scoring, seventh in field goal percentage and ninth in rebounding. Senior guard
Mollie Danahy is second on the team with 12.1 ppg. She is also contributing 2.7 apg, collecting 3.5 rpg, and has tallied a team-high 40 steals this season. First-year guard
Jacqueline Murphy is bringing down a team-high 8.8 rpg.
Skidmore comes to town with a 4-7 overall record, and an 0-1 mark in league play after an 84-72 loss to Union on Tuesday. Megan Gaugler is the Thoroughbred's leading scorer at 10.5 ppg. She also has a team-high 22 steals. Ismatu Alison-Konte is bringing down a team best 6.7 rpg, and Christine Kemp has dished out a team-high 26 assists.
Before playing Hamilton tonight, Union is 6-3 overall and 1-0 in the Liberty League. Lauren McCormick is leading the team with 13.9 ppg. She is adding 5.9 rpg and has earned a team-high 14 steals. Leah Pepe is second on the team in scoring at 12.6 ppg, and is collecting 5.1 rpg and handing out 2.8 apg. Lauren Hennessey leads Union gathering 6.8 rpg.
