The William Smith squash team dropped two matches over the weekend. The Herons lost 9-0 to Cornell on Saturday, and fell to Toronto 6-3 this morning.

William Smith is now 10-7 overall. The Herons were selected No. 23 in the most recent College Squash Association Rankings.

Against Toronto, sophomore Olivia Beckwith improved her season record to 12-5, leading the Herons with a win at No. 6. She defeated her opponent by scores of 11-3, 11-13, 11-7, 6-11, and 11-7. First-year Ginny McDermott earned a 3-0 victory at No. 7. She also is 12-5 this season. At No. 9, first-year Tyler Mitchell picked up her eighth win this year with an 3-0 victory.

The Herons will compete next in the CSA Team Championships beginning on Feb. 18.
