PRINCETON, N.J.—The 18th-ranked Hamilton College squash team defeated No. 23 William Smith 8-1 this morning in the Herons' first match of the Walker Cup, the C Division of the College Squash Association Team Championships.

William Smith is now 10-8 overall and the Continentals improve to 12-9. Sophomore Olivia Beckwith  picked up a win for the Herons at No. 6. She defeated Hamilton's Alexis Lee 11-9, 12-10, 11-3. Beckwith now leads William Smith with a 13 wins this season, including a 6-2 mark at No. 6.

The Herons will square off against No. 22 Vassar in the consolation semifinal round tomorrow, Feb. 19 at 11:30 a.m.
