SARATOGA SPRINGS, N.Y.--The Hobart College tennis team lost to host Skidmore 8-1 in a match played this afternoon. The Thoroughbreds improve to 6-5 this season, and the Statesmen are now 5-7 overall.

Sophomores Bruce Grant and Alex James paired up to earn a close 9-7 win for Hobart at the top doubles spot. The duo defeated Skidmore's Jimmy Sherpa and Spencer Cheng.

The Statesmen will be back on the courts on April 7, when they travel to play Rochester at 4 p.m.
