The William Smith basketball team travels to Schenectady, N.Y., today for a Liberty League showdown with the Union Dutchwomen at 6 p.m. in the Viniar Athletic Center.

The Herons (11-9, 7-4) enter the game tied for second in the Liberty League with five games remaining. Since returning from a knee injury, senior Kristen Kush leads the team in scoring at 9.9 ppg. Junior Sasha Borenstein ranks second on the team with 9.8 ppg and leads the team and is third in the conference in 3-point field goal percentage (.375). Jaimie Rubin has taken over as floor general dishing out a team and conference-high 96 assists through 20 games while sophomore Jacqueline Murphy leads the conference with 10.6 rpg.

The Dutchwomen (9-11, 5-7) enter tonight's game in seventh place in the conference with four games remaining. Brittney Kenney leads the team in scoring (10.9 ppg). Shayla Madden is right behind her averaging 10.0 ppg. Rachel Beaulac leads the team with 6.0 rpg while Mary Donohue has team-highs 32 steals and 58 assists.

Union used 11 unanswered points to stretch a 1-point second half lead into a 12-point advantage on the way to a 61-53 Liberty League win at William Smith in the first meeting of the teams this season.
