Statesmen drop match to Carleton 6-3

HILTON HEAD, S.C.—
The Hobart College tennis team played its final match of its spring break trip this evening, falling 6-3 to Carleton College. The Statesmen posted a 4-1 record during their trip, and are now 8-3 this season.

The Knights are ranked No. 10 in the Central Region by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association. Carleton improves to 12-3.

Junior Bruce Grant picked up a 6-3, 6-0 win for Hobart at the top singles spot. It's his sixth singles victory this season. Junior Alex James rallied to edge his Knight opponent 3-6, 6-2, 10-8. He improved his singles mark to 9-2 for the year. Senior Walter Green improved to 6-0 this season with a 6-4, 6-2 victory at No. 6.

The Statesmen will be back in action on March 31, when the host St. Lawrence at 2 p.m.
