Results

The Hobart College tennis team earned a 6-3 win over host Ithaca College in a match played this evening. The Statesmen improved to 3-6 this season.

Hobart swept doubles play for a 3-0 lead. Senior Bruce Grant and sophomore Michael Fields teamed up for an 8-4 victory at the top spot. They lead the Statesmen with a 7-5 overall doubles record. Seniors Peter Cruice and Alex James edged their competition 8-6 at No. 2, and senior Sam DeLuccia and sophomore Luke DeLuccia cruised to an 8-2 win at No. 3.

Sam DeLuccia registered a 6-3, 6-1 win at the No. 1 singles spot. It was DeLuccia's first win at the top spot.  He leads Hobart with a 7-3 overall singles mark. James battled for a 6-3, 4-6, 6-2 win at No. 4. Junior Ben Robinson topped his Bomber opponent 6-3, 6-4 at No. 6.

The Statesmen will be back in action on Saturday, March 30, when they host Skidmore at 1 p.m.
