The Hobart College tennis team breezed to an 8-1 victory over visiting RIT in a match played this afternoon on the indoor courts in Bristol Field House. The Statesmen, who are ranked No. 20 in the most recent Intercollegiate Tennis Association Northeast Region rankings, improved to 4-13 this season. RIT is now 4-7 overall.

Sam DeLuccia teamed up for an 8-3 victory at the top spot. Sophomore
Michael Fields paired with junior
Ben Robinson for an 8-1 win at No. 2, and sophomore
Luke DeLuccia and junior Nick Schoning earned an 8-6 triumph at No. 3.
Fields notched his second win of the day 6-1, 6-3 at No. 3. Robinson clinched the overall win for the Statesmen with a 6-0, 6-2 victory at No. 4. At No. 5,
Luke DeLuccia posted a 6-4, 6-1 win and
Sam DeLuccia registered a 6-3, 4-6, 10-3 win at the top singles spot. Grant rallied for a 1-6, 7-6 (11-9), 10-6 victory at No. 2. The Tigers logged their lone win of the match at No. 6.
Hobart will be back in action on Saturday, April 20, when it travels to take on Union at 3 p.m.
