The Hobart College tennis team lost 9-0 to visiting Rensselaer this afternoon in a match played on the indoor courts in Bristol Field House. The Engineers, who are ranked No. 19 in the most recent Intercollegiate Tennis Association Northeast Region rankings, are now 15-3 overall. The Statesmen, who are ranked No. 20 in the Northeast, are now 5-14.

Seniors Bruce Grant and Sam DeLuccia put up a strong fight at No. 1 doubles, but were edged 8-6. Grant also battled in his singles match. He won the first set 6-3, but fell 6-4, 10-3 in the next two.

It was the final match of the regular season for Hobart. The Statesmen will be back in action Saturday, April 27, when they take part in the 2013 Liberty League Tournament at Vassar College.
