Statesmen tennis falls to Rochester

Results

The Hobart College tennis team fell to the University of Rochester 7-2 tonight in a match played in the Yellowjackets' Goergen Athletic Center. The Statesmen are now 3-8 overall, while Rochester improves to 11-4.

The Yellowjackets are ranked No. 17 in the Northeast Region by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association. Hobart is ranked No. 19.

Senior Alex James posted a 6-2, 5-7, 6-4 victory for the Statesmen at No. 3 singles. Sophomore Michael Fields avenged a loss from back in the fall to Rochester's Ian Baranowski, picking up a 7-5, 6-3 win at No. 4.

The Statesmen will be back in action on Saturday, April 6, when they take on TCNJ at 11 a.m.
