Herons to host Rochester, RIT this weekend

The William Smith College lacrosse team will play two Liberty League games on Boswell Field this weekend. The Herons return from six straight games on the road to host Rochester today at 4 p.m., and RIT on Saturday, April 6 at 3 p.m.

At halftime of today's contest, the William Smith athletic department will present Embrace Your Sisters with a check for $600. Embrace Your Sisters fills a unique niche in breast cancer services by providing short-term emergency financial assistance to residents of Livingston, Monroe, Ontario, Seneca, Steuben, Wayne, and Yates counties. Over the past 10 years, William Smith athletics has collected and contributed more than $15,000  to the organization. This weekend's contribution was raised through the Herons' efforts this fall, which included Blue Jean Fridays, when members of the athletic departments could wear blue jeans to work in exchange for a donation, and William Smith basketball's Play 4Kay games.
