ANNANDALE-ON-HUDSON, N.Y. – The Hobart College tennis team improved to 2-0 on the season this morning when they defeated Bard 9-0.

The Statesmen jumped out to a 3-0 lead in the doubles competition. All three pairs defeated their Raptor opponents by the score of 8-2. Sophomores
Michael Rusk and
Danny Kot paired at No.1 doubles, first-years
Harry Nichols and
Miles Singer played in the No. 2 slot and sophomores
Ryan Smith and
Carson Smith competed at No. 3.

In the singles competition, all six players dispatched their challengers in straight sets. Rusk bested his opponent 6-1, 6-1 at No. 1, Singer clinched the overall match at No. 2 winning 6-0, 6-0. At No. 3, sophomore
Matt DePrima picked up a 6-1, 6-1 victory while Nichols won at No. 4 by the same score. Kot and Senior
Luke DeLuccia closed out the match winning at No. 5 and No. 6 singles respectively.
