The William Smith College squash team split its match today against Wesleyan and Tufts in the second day of the Wesleyan Round Robin in Middletown, Connecticut. The Herons fell to the host Cardinals 8-1, but topped the Jumbos 6-3.

In William Smith's first match of the day, first-year
Michaelann Denton earned the Herons lone victory at the No. 6 spot. She topped her Cardinal opponent 11-2, 8-11, 10-12, 11-5, 11-6.

In the win over Tufts, William Smith picked up victories at Nos. 1, 5,6,7,8, and 9. First-year
Jocelyn McKenzie earned an 11-9, 8-11, 11-7, 11-5 win at the top spot. At No. 5 sophomore
Delaney Teceno posted an 11-3, 11-8, 11-8 victory and Denton notched an 11-4, 11-6, 11-8 win at No. 6. Sophomore
Brooke Hayes registered an 11-3, 11-0, 11-3 triumph at No. 7 and sophomore
Phoebe Carlisle downed her opponent 11-0, 11-1, 11-2 at No. 8. First-year
Anna Worcester won by default at the No. 9 spot.

The Herons went 3-1 overall in this weekend's round robin. William Smith will be back in action on Saturday, Nov. 22 and Sunday, Nov. 23, when it competes in the 2014 Liberty League Round Robin at Vassar. The Herons will take on the host Brewers on Saturday and face St. Lawrence on Sunday.
