The William Smith College squash team downed Colgate 9-0 today in a match played in Hamilton, N.Y. The Herons improved to 7-8 overall this season.

William Smith earned 3-0 wins at Nos. 1-9 to secure the sweep. First-year Delaney Teceno picked up an 11-9, 12-10, 11-9 win at the top spot. Classmate Brooke Hayes notched an 11-7, 11-7, 11-5 win at No. 2 and sophomore Justine Shank won 11-6, 11-5, 11-5 at No. 3. At No. 4, first-year Phoebe Carlisle topped her opponent 11-5, 11-3, 11-5 and at No. 5 Nellie Lindecke triumphed 11-9, 11-5, 11-8. Sophomore Erin Casey cruised to an 11-3, 11-2, 11-2 victory at No. 6 and senior Hannah Meyer breezed to an 11-3, 11-2, 11-3 win at No. 7. At No. 8 senior Tyler Mitchell won 11-5, 11-1, 11-3 and junior Molly Doran topped her competition 11-7, 11-6, 11-2 at No. 9.

The Herons will be back on the courts on Feb. 15, when they host Rochester for their final match of the regular season at 11 a.m.
