The Hobart College tennis team will compete in the 2014 Liberty League Men's Tennis Tournament this weekend, May 2-4. Matches will be played at the indoor courts at the University of Rochester in Rochester, N.Y.
The Statesmen bring a 12-9 overall record into the tournament and are the No. 4 seed. Hobart will face No. 5 St. Lawrence in its first round match on Friday, May 2 at 11 a.m.

Michael Fields leads the Statesmen with 11 singles victories this year. He's played all his matches at the top two singles spots and has logged a 10-8 mark at No. 1. First-year
Matt DePrima leads Hobart with 12 doubles victories. He has teamed up with Fields to notch a 9-5 mark at the No. 1 spot. The pair is currently riding a four-match winning streak.
St. Lawrence brings a 9-8 overall record into the tournament. The Saints closed out the season with a 9-0 win over Nazareth on Saturday. Hobart and St. Lawrence last met on April 13 in Canton, N.Y., and the Statesmen came away with a 6-3 win.
Ranked No. 26 in the nation, Skidmore (10-7) will be the tournament's top seed and will take on No. 8 Bard (4-8) on Friday at 9 a.m. No. 2 Rensselaer (11-4) will face No. 7 RIT (3-10) at 2 p.m., and No. 3 Vassar (10-8) will play No. 6 Union (2-7) at 4 p.m. The semifinals will take place on Saturday, May 3 at 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. The championship will be played on Sunday, May 4 at 10 a.m.
