The William Smith College squash team split its two matches today in the 2015 Wesleyan Round Robin. The Herons fell to the host Cardinals 7-2 to start the day, but earned a 7-2 victory over Northeastern this afternoon.

Hattye Hytla and
Stacy Avigail Maceda earned wins for the Herons at Nos. 7 and 8, respectively. Hytla rallied for an 8-11, 11-8, 11-5, 11-8 win and Maceda topped her opponent 11-5, 11-4, 11-6.

Against the Huskies, first-year
Madison Bradley earned an 11-4, 11-0, 11-2 win at No. 2 and sophomore
Anna Worcester won 11-3, 11-1, 11-5 at No. 3. At No. 4 junior
Brooke Hayes came out on top 11-2, 11-7, 11-4 and at No. 5, sophomore
Peyton Capute notched an 11-13, 11-7, 11-3, 7-11, 11-2 victory. Hytla posted her second win of the day at No. 6, 11-3, 11-4, 11-3. Senior
Erin Casey registered a 9-11, 11-4, 11-7, 11-4 triumph at No. 7 and Maceda won 11-4, 11-0, 11-0 at the No. 8 spot.

The Herons will be back in action Jan. 15-17, when they compete in the 2016 Pioneer Valley Round Robin.
