EWING, N.J. -Â The Hobart College tennis team fell 9-0 to The College of New Jersey this afternoon. The Statesmen are now 8-2 this season.
The Lions started the match off with a sweep of the doubles competition. In the closest doubles match, sophomore
Michael Rusk and first-year
Colin Marker jumped out to a 7-4 lead at No. 2, but could not clinch their match against Jack August and Mike Stanley. Rusk and Singer lost 9-8 (7-0). In singles play, senior
Michael Fields lost in three sets to August in the No. 2 spot. Fields rallied to win the second set 6-1 before losing 10-3 in the super tie-break.
Hobart will look to bounce back tomorrow when they face New York University. The match against the Violets is scheduled to begin at 10 a.m. in New York, New York.Â
