GENEVA, N.Y. - The Hobart College tennis team was defeated by Rensselaer 7-2 this evening in a match contested inside Bristol Field House. With the win, the Engineers improve to 9-3 while the Statesmen drop to 8-5.
The Engineers took a 2-1 lead at the conclusion of doubles play. Senior

Matt DePrima rallied to win No. 1 doubles, 9-7. Sophomore
Michael Rusk and first-year
Colin Marker battled into a tiebreak at No. 2 before losing, 9-8 (7-3).
In singles play, Fields notched his second win of the day at No. 2 singles. He dropped the first set (4-6) to RPI's Brandon Mazzara before rallying to win 6-4, 6-2. Marker battled to three sets at No. 4 singles before falling 10-8 in the super tiebreak.
Hobart is back on the court tomorrow morning. The Statesmen host St. Lawrence at the HWS Tennis Center at 10 a.m.
