GENEVA, N.Y. – The Hobart College tennis team notched an 8-1 victory over Rochester Institute of Technology in a match contested at the HWS Tennis Center this afternoon. The Statesmen improve to 10-5 on the year while the Tigers fall to 5-9.
Hobart swept the doubles competition to take a 3-0 lead. Sophomores

Danny Kot cruised to an 8-0 win at No. 2 doubles. Senior

Harry Nichols also topped their opponent 8-0 at No. 3. In the No. 1 spot, senior
Michael Fields and sophomore
Matt DePrima won 8-4.
The Statesmen won five of the six singles matches to secure the overall team victory. Nichols topped Jason Alexander, 6-0, 6-1, at No. 5 to extend Hobart's lead. DePrima clinched the match for the Statesmen at No. 3 singles with a 6-2, 6-2 victory. At No. 4, first-year
Miles Singer cruised to a 6-1, 6-1 victory over Jared Raphael. Rusk's second win of the afternoon came at No. 1 singles when he beat Amos Baptiste, 6-1, 6-3. Kot closed out the match with a 6-2, 6-3 victory at No. 6 singles.
Hobart will be back on the court on Saturday, April 18, when they travel to take on Skidmore. The match is scheduled to begin a 1 p.m in Saratoga Springs, New York.
