The William Smith College lacrosse team will complete its regular season schedule hosting Skidmore and Rensselaer on Boswell Field this weekend. On Saturday, April 25, the Herons will also honor coaching legend Pat Genovese.

William Smith will take on the Thoroughbreds on Friday, April 24 at 4 p.m., and then host the Engineers on Saturday, April 25, at 4 p.m. On Saturday, the William Smith athletic department will honor Genovese with a pregame ceremony starting at approximately 3:55 p.m. After nearly 44 years of serving the Colleges as a teacher, coach, mentor, administrator and fundraiser, Genovese announced that she will retire on June 4. There will also be a postgame reception in the tent next to Boswell Field, catered by Dana's Time Out. Please RSVP to

William Smith lacrosse brings a 6-8 overall record and a 4-3 mark in the Liberty League into this weekend's games. Sophomore
Alexandra Bird leads the team with 40 goals and 45 points. Junior
Geneva Calder has caused a team-high 18 turnovers and sophomore
Allie Flaherty has won a team-high 29 draws. Sophomore goalie
Sarah Honan has played the majority of minutes in goal and is sporting a 10.53 goals against average and a .494 save percentage. She also leads the team with 32 ground balls.
