Alessandra Patrizio leads the team with 32 points and 15 goals. Wood is right behind her with 31 points and 13 goals. Patrizio leads the conference and is second in the nation with 1.88 goals per game and is third in the nation with 4.00 points per game. Wood ranks fourth in the nation with 1.63 goals per game and fifth with 3.88 points per game. As a team, William Smith is first in the nation in goals per game (5.38) and points per game (14.00). The Herons are second in the nation in assists per game (3.25) and fourth in scoring margin (3.73).
William Smith plays a pair of games on the road this week. On Wednesday, Sept. 30, the Herons take on Ithaca. The Bombers are currently 6-2 and rank second in the nation in goals against average and third in save percentage. Cassie Schuttrumpf, Colleen Keegan-Twombly, and Michaela Donohue are currently tied for the team lead with nine points. Katie Lass has played all eight games in goal for Ithaca and has a 0.49 goals against average and a .911 save percentage.
On Saturday, Oct. 3, William Smith travels to Poughkeepsie, N.Y., to take on Vassar in a Liberty League contest. The Brewers enter the week with a 7-2 overall record and a 1-0 record in the Liberty League. Megan Caveny leads the team with 12 points (4g, 4a). Paige Amico has played every minute in goal for the Brewers, recording a 0.78 goals against average and a .794 save percentage. Amico has posted four shutouts this season.
