The William Smith College squash team earned two victories in the 2016 William Smith Round Robin in the Smith Squash Center today. The Herons downed Rochester 9-0 in the morning and blanked Colgate 9-0 in their afternoon match.

The Herons (15-4) opened the day with a 9-0 win over the Yellowjackets. Sophomore
Michaelann Denton posted an 11-1, 11-3, 11-6 win at the top spot. Sophomore
Cashel McCarthy earned an 11-0, 11-2, 11-5 triumph at No. 2, and first-year
Madison Bradley posted an 11-3, 11-2, 11-2 victory at No. 3. At the No. 4 spot, junior
Delaney Teceno won 11-1, 11-0, 11-1 and at No. 5 junior
Brooke Hayes notched an 11-0, 11-2, 11-2 win. Sophomore
Anna Worcester topped her opposition 11-3, 11-0, 11-0 at No. 6 and senior
Justine Shank won 11-3, 11-2, 11-1 at No. 7. First-year
Hattye Hytla defeated her competition 11-4, 11-3, 11-1 at No. 8 and first-year
Stacy Avigail Maceda won 11-1, 11-1, and won by default at the No. 9 spot.

In their afternoon match, Denton won again at the No. 1 spot (11-8, 11-4, 12-10). McCarthy logged an 11-3, 11-1, 11-3 triumph at No. 2. Bradley posted an 11-3, 11-2, 11-2 victory at the No. 3 spot and
Peyton Capute downed her opposition11-5, 11-5, 11-2 at No. 4. Teceno won at No. 5 (11-2, 11-3, 11-5), and Hayes triumphed at No. 6 (11-1, 11-3, 11-0). At the No. 7 spot, Worcester came out on top 11-1, 11-4, 11-0 and Shank registered an 11-1, 11-2, 11-1 victory at No. 8. Maceda won at No. 9, 11-0, 11-2, 11-6.

The Herons will be back in action on Wednesday, Feb. 3, when they travel to take on Hamilton at 6 p.m.
